Another lovely view, that I was very happy to see.
Shortly before this we drove through the 14km Arlberg tunnel, that seemed to go on forever.
For some reason, once we were 6km into the tunnel, and descending into the bowels of a mountain, Steve thought that was the perfect time to tell me cheery stories of the Mont Blanc tunnel disaster from several decades ago where loads of people died after a truck caught fire and there was a monumental traffic jam. Oh lovely.
In the gloomy tunnel, to help dissipate the mood of imminent doom, there are emergency signs every 100m of a little green man making his way to the emergency exits.
Question is, if we are all supposed to be calm in an emergency, why is the little green man running like his life depended on it? (Not that I blame him.)
