Biking the walls

In Lucca you can bike on top of the (very wide) city walls around the historic town. A lovely way to spend a few hours. Here in Lucca the locals all ride bikes to get around - old, young, with high heels, while smoking, while eating, while yelling at their mates. 

The best sight we saw (but I wasn't quick enough to get a pic) was an old bloke riding his bike with his trusty cocker spaniel - the dog's front paws were on the handle bars, his back paws on the guy's knees. The dog had a huge smile. Out for a ride with Dad. Woof-o!
