Our little palazzo in Lucca

You know the situation. You book a hotel room online and it's described as "a palace" - then when you get there, it's a dump-o. So I was dubious. But this one REALLY is a palace. A palazzo built for the Tucci family in the 13th century. Holy crapola! And it wasn't even that expensive. As Europe goes.

And that's just our room. To get to our room we walk through four ornate drawing rooms that we share with only one other guest room. And in the drawing room closest to us is a complimentary drinks tray with port, grappa, whiskey and gin.  Fantastico!
