Shall we live in your 400 year old farmhouse? Or mine?

Elfriede inherited Zinting from her father. The farm has been in her family for 350 years and was built over 50 years prior. Her husband Erhard also inherited a 400 year old farmhouse. His house (the one in the pic) is nestled in a quiet valley above the village of Kirchberg.

When they married, they had to decide which gorgeous 400 year old farmhouse to live in. A nice problem to have!

When I last saw Erhard’s house it was very basic inside as it was still in its original state. A few years ago, they renovated it – new bathrooms, new kitchen, new furniture, sanded floors and walls, etc.

We went for a visit and it is absolutely stunning. The house is currently rented on an annual basis to a family from Munich who use it as their weekend holiday home.

Erhard does maintenance work during the week when the family aren't there, which is how we got to have a look around.
