Uluru in Provence

The village of Roussillon made its name in the 19th century from its ochre quarries. The village is the same colour as its hills - deep red terracotta.

Walking around the ochre hills gave us the odd feeling that we might be at Uluru in Australia or near the Grand Canyon in Colorado.
