Ski heaven

We rode gondolas and cable cars to the top of several mountains and marvelled at the size of the ski fields.

That is the one big change since I left. There are many more ski lifts and the three big ski areas have joined together - 100 lifts over three mountain ranges!  It is so extensive that you can ski to villages that are two hours away by car.

Of course, you would need to refuel after that much skiing, which is why the tree lined fields are dotted with schnapps bars and restaurants. Oh so convenient.  Beats the Uncle Ben’s pie you get at NZ skifields.
